I have a beastly 5G router that was overkill for what my household needed. I felt absentminded, nerve pain/issues, and an overall sense of "mental fog" whereas I would feel contentment by just sitting and staring at nothing. I came really close to noosing myself. When I went out and about to hiking trails, changes became apparent. Not because mere active lifestyle, but the proximity to wifi devices in general. I would feel better by simply sitting in a clearing in the woods and zoning out. I took it a step further and cut the problem at its source. Once the wifi on the router was switched off and all data was pumped through the cables, the effects were night-&-day. I feel more invested in the things that I do and life seems more... alive.

i will say it seems the edgeswitches are problematic; we've got one deployment with unifi switches instead and they seem to work alright, but it's just a sample size of one and my experience with fighting the edgeswitches still makes me wary to recommend any of them.

Adtran's pretty decent. I'm not sure if they're really that much cheaper than Cisco, but we've got deployments from the last decade that are still chugging along just fine for VoIP and people who don't mind only having 10/100.
