It's a monstrosity, because it was supposed to serve as an entrance for an avenue (hence the big gate). But the avenue was never built.

Originally, a smaller house was standing there which served a s a kosher market. The kike tears were salty and delicious when the building was demolished.

It's a very old building, they couldn't make large glass panes so they all have a steel roster to keep small ones in place.
