SpaceX's most important rocket launch is Tuesday

Elon Musk's private company SpaceX is going to be re-launching a Falcon 9 Block 5 for the first time. If successful this completely changes the space launch game and sets up the future of SpaceX dominating all commercial satellite launches.

The Falcon 9 Block 5 is designed to be the "final version" of commercial satellite launchers with maximal reusability of dozens of times and quick turnaround. Compared to earlier re-uses of new blocks, it will be done in 85 days vs 250 days and after a complete tear down for analysis.

Tuesday successful launch means:
SpaceX is on track to replace all ISP services in the world with cheap internet service.
Satellite launches will decrease in cost to 1/10th what they cost now.
SpaceX becomes exponentially more valuable as a company.

Reminder, Tuesday is the most important economic launch for SpaceX, while it may not be as exciting or news catching as the Falcon Heavy.

You're a fucking retard.

do you have any reason to expect a failure? have you been paying attention to their launches?

Our space program has been a disgrace. I'm glad someone private took over from NASA.

block 5 is meant to be the final version with maximized reusability. It's actually the most important launch relative to economic benefit. The heavy is more of a visionary system. The block 5 is going to allow SpaceX to dominate internet providers. If this shit works we can switch to low ping low cost sat internet globally.

Best part is it absolutely fucks ISP monopolies.

>The block 5 is going to allow SpaceX to dominate internet providers.

In what way is SpaceX an ISP? What equipment are you talking about?

if it's successful, how long until they get a global network of satellites for internet access for everyone?

I thought musk decided to go into submarines instead?

Ajit Pai approved spacex's plan. They already have the paths reserved and everything for a Starlink worldwide system. 12,000 satellite paths have been reserved for spacex

geekwire.com/2018/fcc-chairman-ajit-pai-endorses-spacex-satellite-internet-service/

Is it firing Musk into the sun?

It is pretty cool that the heavy already has at least one launch contract.

There aren't any fucking "satellites" up there - all they do is bounces radio waves off of the magneto"sphere".

Grow up.

No, I think they will get costs completely minimized before doing the starlink launches. They have some required number to keep the reserved orbits but will likely launch them all when the block 5 is perfected and not in test mode.

nobody cares what you think.

cool, thanks!

I hope they will also release Elon's nudes during that event. He is such a hot beast.

its fucks isp monopolies by making space-x thee monopoly.

If done right the commercialization of space will be the start of a new age of explorarion. Im pretty excited about spaceX. Nasa is a depressing failure.

i learned from a business man that your goal should be to corner the market, then demand hand jobs.

Snap out of it kid,

I read some concerns with having too many rockets penetrate the atmosphere at any given time. Gonna have to dig those up. Would prefer it to not be the case but being cautious with the ozone is always going to be my prefered aproach.

People will catch up to spacex eventually, but yeah a private company with a monopoly on cheap space launches is going to be worth so much money. So many businesses and communications they can monopolize at will.

5 years if you're American .

Largest benefactor is going to be the military.
New weapons.

just a hj?

I'd have a harem

SpaceForce is going to be awesome.

God damn that's fucking cool.

Musk tends to shoot himself in the foot by overpromising, but I tend to chalk it up to how passionate and excited he is about technology and the future. It will likely be him and a few other wealthy individuals who drag mankind kicking and screaming into space.

You spacefags think this went to the moon?

Attached: lander.jpg (2349x2373, 423K)

It only ever flew in the vacuum of space you r-tard lol.

Attached: 1499047680302.jpg (1154x1080, 289K)

Something went to the moon. There are observable objects/landing sites.

It sucks space wars won't ever have ww2 style fighter fights.

I'm the retard? Interesting.

You mean the paper mache and tinfoil pill?

I mean images are proof aren't they?

you can see the landing sites from earth

It's clearly a conspiracy by the telescope manufacturers to project false images back into your eyes, c'mon user. WAKE UP!

communism does not have a state you retard, communism is the workers self governance for themselves to be able to produce whatever they need. its just like anarchocapitalism, except that there is no private property.
what your underage newfag brain meant was "socialism"

Oh dear, you've fucked yourself now.

Show your evidence.

Imagine the leftist meltdown when Ajit Pai and Elon Musk announce global super fast cheap internet.

Holy shit it's going to be amazing.

k

That's what people don't get. Ajit Pai did more for isp competition than any other FCC chair. A dem would have blocked spacex on some spurious bullshit but he went right ahead with giving them the go ahead.

Also remember that piercing their stupid suits would have killed them instantly: youtube.com/watch?v=Zcz0eL_bYsI

would you guys work at Tesla if you had the opportunity?

There's a good chance that Elon becomes a billionaire from spaceX

why? It's supposedly a meat grinder.

FCC recently approved One Touch Make Ready rules as well, which should also allow outsiders to deploy infrastructure more quickly and increase competition.

arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/08/fcc-gives-google-fiber-and-new-isps-faster-access-to-utility-poles/

They're pushing hard to auction off more 24/28GHz and 39GHz, which will benefit the likes of T-Mo and other mobile carriers who may not already have as much mmWave spectrum for 5G as the likes of Verizon and AT&T.

Pai's OK in my book.

My opinion is a lot of regulation is designed in a crony way to entrench and establish barriers to entry. I don't mind getting rid of it. I think most people are naive in thinking that regulation is for the benefit of citizens.

Competition is the only way we get benefits.

a-asking for a friend

what you think will never matter unless you learn how to reason effectively.

I don't know. Doesn't it look good on resumes? I thought most people go to a big name like that for a few years to have it on their resume then work someplace sane.

If you are taking life advice from a thread though wtf.

Excuse me? I wanted evidence of the landing sites being visible from earth.

suck my dick.

More curious on what people's thoughts were. I see Elon Musk posts and shit about Tesla all the time, curious if it's a desirable place to work at or not

glassdoor

point taken

You have to be extremely retarded to think a sphere would curve like that.

>low ping sat internet
did you make that up?

Attached: satping.png (1068x244, 62K)

SPACE FORCE

That's geostationary orbit. Satellite broadband that Musk and others have proposed would be in low Earth orbit (say 1000 miles or so altitude) and signals would have to traverse a much shorter distance.

The downside being you need a far denser array to cover a particular area than you do with geostationary orbit. But you'd probably need more density anyway just to have enough capacity for such a system to be a viable broadband option for a significant portion of the population.

>he doesnt know that he is the retard.
like i said before, nobody cares what you think.

I'm pretty sure that once we have a certain threshold of genetic stock on Mars we'll """""""""""""""""accidentally"""""""""""""""""""""""" redirect a few asteroids towards earth.
Then recolonize it a century later
imagine being this much of a retard

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to. It never dealt with atmospheric drag due to only being used in a vacuum, so there was no need for it to be aerodynamic.

Don't you realise this is perfect proof of perspective? The same thing happens on a flat bridge. I'm the retard? youtube.com/watch?v=Hmwg4kKDhec

Why are you retards replying to an obvious troll?

there will be flat earthers in the middle of syberia, hundreds of miles from any hope of cell reception, or electricity, shitposting about how satellites are fake. What a time to be alive.

your opinion will never matter, you cant even tell the difference between the effects of altitude and the effects of telephoto zoom. You are the retard.

it can be fun, but i'm done, i got other shit to do.

I c what you did there.

Looks sturdy to you? Professionally made?

Fucking awesome, thx.

if you want to know why it looks the way it does, study the R&D behind it. The fact you haven't already shows you don't care.

We'll see about that won't we...

You do know that is untrue, right?

Huh. Who knew NASA could still do more than just shill for global warming and diversity.

Musk is a gigantic faggot. If it wasn't for the anti-Russian sentiment of the mainstream media and the left, we'd still be in good terms with the Russians and flying astronauts to space on their amazing spacecraft. There would be no market for Blue Origin's and SpaceX's poorly performing junk. Huge waste of taxpayer money!

based and redpilled. Private spaceflight was always going to be a very difficult thing compared to government spaceflight, but once it got going "muh free market" ensured that it was made much more efficient.
