Actually, economists generally think of income taxes as distortionary.

Whether a native-born person's wages fall depends on whether foreign labor and native-born labor are close substitutes. If native-born labor and immigrant labor are complements in production, wages and employment opportunities for native-born labor would actually increase.

Irish were truly the Beginning of the End. They quickly infested the Civil Service and created entrenched corruption as Catholics.
