Is this supposed to be a clever "talking point"? Confederate monuments were part of the accord between north and south that began in the 1910's, when the north wanted southerners to fight its wars again (namely, World War I). The terms of this accord were that the past would be put in the past, the south would be allowed to honor its history and its heroes, and that would be that.
