World War II is a great example of the nightmares of logistics and how complete armies were rendered unable to fight for that very reason, especially the North African campaign. The Gulf War was also almost a complete logistical fuck up. You had some armoured and mechanized divisions that couldn't even get into the fight because the rapid refueling teams were either over 50 km behind them or not even fucking there.
