We didn't do engineering lessons at school here in the UK, perhaps if they did more people would do it.
If you re not good at academic subjects you need another outlet , the whole education system is geared towards academic types and success, yet most people aren't academically minded, what is there for the other 70% that aren't academic? we still need art and other creative subjects but we should be teaching more useful things like engineering.

I'm having a hard time finding a job with my stem degree (biological science) mostly because there retarded companies want a year of job experience in the field for an entry level job. Then again I haven't graduated yet and I do expect to have a job by the time I graduate in December. People who don't have a job by the time they graduate either have a shitty gpa, haven't looked for a job, have a shit degree that is is over represented, or are just lazy and don't really want a job.

I have a BSME degree and work as a dishwasher making $7.25 an hour at the age of 33. I've put in 1000s of applications over the years and never even had an interview. I even offer to work for free. A stem job is a privilege or status symbol now and most aren't even needed.

I don't get this? I majored in political science and history, still got a job within administration and management that pays 50 000€. I graduated right when Obama got elected. It was hopeless from the start. I graduated 5th highest GPA in my class and didn't accumulate any college debt.
