I remember reading a twitter thread about this. I'm pretty sure it said that animals are better when you have little water, but in return have lower nutritional yield, while plants require lots of water but have very high yield.
It's kinda fucked though. A lot of farms are leased or mortgaged heavily, it's only the super big corporation owned ones that aren't.

With a slow cooker it's so much easier desu. You prepare the food the night before, set a timer for when you want it to start cooking (I usually like mine to cook for 4 hours and eat at 5 o'clock, so I set the slow cooker to start at 1 o'clock). Then all you do is eat. The most you have to do is cook rice up if your meal needs rice (curry).
