Libertarian Thread

Okay Jow Forums, you have had your shitposting fun, but it is time for real political conversations and discourse instead of the current cesspool of racism (which you are entitled to) and bigotry (which you are also entitled to). Discuss Libertarian topics here. While we may be the "party that never gets elected" party, we are arguably the party most representative to the original founding fathers' vision of America. That vision being one of freedom, personal responsibility, and a nonauthoritarian, limited gov't (not saying drumpf is an authoritarian btw).

Who will build the roads?

Bump

we would have hover cars if it wasn't for regulations

What about regulation of hovercar and personal aircraft traffic?
It just seems like a recipe for disaster to have all of those vehicles floating around without rules.

Libertarianism is a spectrum, much like autism, pick where on it you fall and advocate your personal views. I would argue that regulation of traffic rules, but only limited vehicle standards themselves, would be a reasonable option.

Cars will be automated before we reach hover/flight capacities. We won’t even need lights at intersections, dude.

this is how traffic would be in a libertarian society

Serious inquiry for libertarians itt:

How would a limited government deal with a virulent pandemic with a high lethality rate, threatening to wipe out 3/4 if the population? Just curious if Authoritarian acceptions would be made given the context.

advancements in technology would be much more rapid so you could get a mcvaccine while you order a burger.

Again, the response depends on what end of the libertarian spectrum you find yourself on and support. Personally, I would be okay with some exceptions in such a case.

Libertarianism is gay consumerism.

havent heard much from libertarians for awhile

Dear user. OP. I love you. Lets make Jow Forums relevant my actually liberal/classic liberal and libertarian brothers, and ofc everyone else!

No u

>the original founding fathers' vision of America
A voluntary union of sovereign states that could have governments as authoritarian as they want so long as they don't violate the very few specific rights laid down in the constitution.

I'm a bleeding heart Libertarian

Help enforce and secure a self reliant public in order to allow for the public to sustain itself under most major emergencies. Reenforce with proper discipline, firearms training and survival courses available from your local Militia Jurisdiction for free.

(((As authoritarian as they want)))

(((This isn't how you use echoes)))

No your fucking not stop kidding yourselves

>Freedom is scary because there's no boot to lick!

I live in Bakersfield my local LP is deader than dead. I go to Republican events because they have more food I would piss a ton of people off if I decided to register as an LP and become chairman or something

I'm a "small l" libertarian. I see no need to get involved in party politics

I like local politics the old republican boomers on my city and county councils have banned cannabis shops and yet the city is broke AF. I would really like to repeal this anti business authoritarian ban.

Your days are numbered corporist Libertarians.
