With the recent banning of Alex Jones from basically all social media, leftists are once again arguing that these platforms have no obligation to uphold the first amendment. Yet just a few months ago, leftists judges declared social media platforms like twitter to be "public platforms" and hence considered free-speech zones, when ruling that it is unconsitutional for Trump to block people on twitter.
So which is it, are these private companies where we can block whoever we want, or are they free-speech zones where Trump has to respect the first amendment? Because it seems right now that leftists think free-speech should only be protected for them.
