I definitely noticed the author's real need to do things like give labels and find leaders. The book promises "interviews with leaders of the alt-right" -- people that I've never heard of, mostly.
It really surprises me that academia can't understand the most basic things about the alt-right. Probably the most basic of which is: there is no alt-right. It's a creation of the media-academia complex itself.
