I noticed that Trump is massively hated here in the UK (even more so than in the US), and I think it's to do with the British culture of not wanting to be perceived as impolite. Trump instantly calls out issues as he sees them, and it deviates from the British culture of not mentioning real causes of issues because it would be too impolite to acknowledge these causations publicly.
I think this applies to America in general; Americans on the whole care little about being perceived as polite and as a result are perceived by the British as overly loud, rude and obnoxious. Naturally, every culture thinks their way of conducting affairs is superior, so the Brits are very snobbish towards Americans because their mannerisms are diametrically opposed to British mannerisms.
In essence: British people deride America so much because it reinforces the idea that the British way of doing things is much better.
