Alright here's some brit superstition. I'm in murica atm do mind the flag. We have a lot of poltergeist, might be a Chinese thing too but the souls of dead people who died unjustly can cause them to disturb the lives of living people. We have a lot of local varieties of demon or spirit, such as a hob, which is a household spirit which helps out but can play tricks if annoyed by the homeowner.
