The real reason why Youtube, mind you not Google who owns Youtube, and Facebook closed his account is because
Alex Jones talked about Sandy Hook as a hoax and defamed families and loved ones calling them liars and a hoax, a conspiracy. He did this for money and profit, nothing else. The families of Sandy Hook victims probably contacted Jones directly but that had no effect. Next thing they did was contact Youtube and Facebook and tell them if the content doesn't get taken down they will take them to court.

Both Youtube and Facebook were facing likely court cases which they would have lost even if taken all the way to the Supreme Court. Alex Jones would have cowardly resorted to a lame defense such as calling out Youtube and Facebook for not taking down his content that violated their terms of use. From legal point of view, Youtube and Facebook knew they'd lose the case if taken to court. They would have lost millions of dollars had they not taken Alex Jones down. We have seen this many times before, big corporations like their money and are willing to do anything to keep it. Last thing they want is all the negative PR fighting for a conspiracy nut job who did it for the money and not for law and justice.

There is no way Youtube and Facebook did not warn Jones to remove the unlawful content before they shut down his accounts. Jones knew he had been warned but did not comply because he knew this would provide him more PR and he would just profit more when Youtube and Facebook are gone as the middle man. And they were more than happy to host his content while making money not losing it.

They would have lost in court.

and get some sort of more permanent system for uploading all of their videos to their site, since all the 36000 YouTube videos got shoahed

Youtube is effectively a publisher, although the courts haven't yet ruled in that direction, likely because YouTube (Google) has immense power to influence government. therefore, they should be subject to anti-slander laws. and due to their de-facto monopoly status, should also be broken up. So although they exert influence in the government through massive lobbying and crony capitalism, they are also subject to regulation by the same politicians they are lobbying. so it's a vicious circle where you have Senator Warner threatening to break them up and may have actually weaponized them against Jones as a first strike, prior to the Mid-Terms.
