In Hungary on the Universities basically you can teach anything you want.
But.
There's a difference between a Master's degree RECOGNIZED by the State, and a "Master's degree" which is not recognized by the state, basically a piece of paper. You can do with your money anything you want, but you cannot force Hungary to accept your shitty piece of paper as a valuable, official degree.
This difference is important, because there are different laws which mandate available holiday and wage of people who hold officially recognized degrees, so it can make a huge impact on your living conditions.
tl;dr: It is important, because SJW-s now cannot stand in line for gibs and six figure salaries based on ideology masquerading as science.

Most young people in the cities are really uneducated with political theory, they hate the government because let's face it, Fidesz is really hardcore in measures compared to other right wing parties of Europe, and they have this "why can't we all be nice and play nice?" mentality, and while - as I've mentioned - SJW mentality is really weak here, virtue signalling is a hobby of many.

I can't say how hard Hungarian is, but learning a language is fully based on how much effort you put in.
Before I went on my trip to America I was attending univeristy in Tokyo with classes fully in Japanese and I only started last September.
But I find the first hurdle is working out how you learn to learn a language.
Then if you want to focus on only learning to speak, which will be really useful, or learning to read and write too which would take a lot longer.

Hungarian is not an easy language. If you're serious, you can develop newspaper and kitchen level in about a year without much hassle though, but you'll never sound like a native, but that's not a problem. In Hungarian culture, everywhere in the country people do appreciate foreigners who actually try.
Hungarians do like Croats, as a matter of fact I have a shitton of Croatian friends (laugh as much as you want, but from actual LARPing communities, because hey why the fuck not. I would recommend Budapest, Győr, Tihany, Szeged, and Sopron. They are full of tourist traps, but damn under that touristy layer, there's so much real and neat stuff.
