This is true, I worked at a private machine shop for a decade and then switched to a union shop and it was horribly mismanged, where everyone was forced to work 12 hours a day 7 days a week until they laid everyone off like a couple months later. Management was non-existant and the temps worked harder than the union guys who stood around all day on their cellphones.

Just look at the entire industries they destroy. The last of our big manufacturing was the automotive and look how detroit is now. Look at unions that formed at hostess and took them down. Any company that offers pension plans that do not take any government money usually always goes belly up. Pensions just aren't competitive, paying people to NOT work. People should learn to save up their money for retirement rather than force companies to do it for them. One of the worst unions in the US has been the teachers unions. They're overpaid like hell and they can keep doing it on government tax dollars and our public schools are worst than they have ever been and schools keep getting money pumped in year after year with little to no accountability. If they were not tax funded (endless tax dollars), they would have been bankrupt the first few years.

I gross $105-109/year, & in another 2 I'll be up to $130's level. Cadillac health plan, 4 weeks paid (at 12 hours standard rate), vested in pension...if you tags are in a "union" then you've got shit on the table in terms of skills, just started, or are in some who that AFL/CIO affiliate that doesn't do shit but collect dues & vote blue. Learn something, ANYTHING, join a real union, & post again in 13 months.

The bullshitting in this thread is fucking hilarious. Union MES Tech under plumbers and pipefitters union and it's the best gig I've ever had. Truck, gas, uniforms, and tools all paid for by the company. Currently an apprentice making $20/HR but that will increase by $5/HR ever year for the next 4 years. After that I have the opportunity to upgrade to journeyman and bump my pay AGAIN. I have insurance I don't pay for and a pension. Not sure what you fags have to gain from shilling against unions in this thread but you're doing a piss poor job.
