What is your consensus on coverings? During Gulf War for example US had reasonable support from Middle Eastern countries. But after the last invasion literally no one believes in what US says or promises.
Unfortunately, it's getting even worse. Turkey is basically out of US influence, it won't be a surprise if they leave NATO within a decade, especially if US continues to treat them same way. Syria is out as well, Assad is close to victory, when the war is over there will be one more country that despises US. Iraq is also out of US influence, which is the most ironic of all, the country whose government toppled by US actually elects noticeably anti-US politicians.
Seriously, what is the objective of US government in the Middle East? Not the conspiracy theories, the real solid objectives. Why are we in Syria? If we are to remove Assad, than let's do it decisively rather than turtling behind Kurds. I really cannot comprehend the objectives.
