All ethnicities have a majority preference to date within their own ethnic group, and people should be allowed to express their preference. The white supremacist today, and there are of course many variations, generally still believe the same as historically - that the white race should be placed above other races institutionally due to being inherently "better" than other races.

Insecurity, as I define it in relation to white supremacy, is a response to a self-perception of inadequacy. People who feel stunted, hopeless, or otherwise unsuccessful will bolster their self worth by default characteristics, e.g. being white, being male/female, being American - that is, things that they don't have to work for and can find solidarity among like-minded peers.
