My dad has watched CNN for years. He doesn't use the internet and is pretty clueless to the political climate. But recently he said hes tired of it because all the do it bash trump. They have the popular meme of being seen as in-the-middle and fair. When people have this idea that CNN is the center between MSNBC and FOX -- despite them being much more MSNBC -- people will take what they say as the truth moreso because they're seen as more fair and balanced.

It's easier to lie when you have the perception of truth than to be seen as outright wrong, ala FOX, and promote a truth -- if that makes sense.
