Given the sample; I suspect that the method used to determine this is flawed. Perhaps, homosexuality occupies a certain range of intelligence which happens to above the average convict. If what was found in this study is true, we'd expect to see homosexuals over represented in the creation of inventions/concepts, which doesn't seem to be the case.
