HTTPS will protect me against guys working at my isp who happen to want to know what I am doing because they are nosy. I have lost my Internet connection at very suspicious times when I was always doing a paticular thing. Because these assholes cut my connection or something.

That's really not true. If you're using HTTPS and its set up on the server end correctly then there's no information your ISP can get from you other than that you accessed the IP of the server and transferred X amount of data. If you want to prevent even that you can just use a VPN, of course, there may be new privacy concerns with that (or not), but your ISP definitely won't be watching you.
