Im an american who just recently came back from a study abroad trip at oxford. While there i noticed a few mixed race relationships with a white girl and black guy.
The big difference is here in america only fat or ugly white girls go for black guys unless their rich. However, in britain the mixed relationship is always a really hot blonde girl and a dark african dude. Can a british person please explain this dynamic to me and why only highly attractive blonde girls were with black guys? Was it just the area of the UK i was in?
Maybe its because theyre fairly new to Europe so they're seen as exotic still. I want to specify that these blonde girls were HOT. Like model hot. Thats saying a lot because British girls left a lot to be desired.

In America, African Americans have been around for hundreds of years and are mostly seen as the working or underclass of American society, so that on top of segregation means the only kind of women outside of their race they will typically get with will be their White equivalent, namely fat trailer trash. In Britain, the equivalent of African Americans are the typical chavs and working class Brits, who are mostly looked down upon and were also kind of segregated in a class sense from middle and upper class British society.
Blacks in Britain are recent arrivals since the 1950s for Caribbeans and since the 70s for Africans (mostly Nigerian, Ghanaian, though since the 90s from other African countries like Somalia, Congolese etc.). There were colonial connections to these countries, so many of the Blacks spoke fluent English and had a good understanding of British culture as well as being Christian, though they also maintained their own, which made them approachable and able to integrate but still foreign enough to be seen as exotic. As they were immigrants, the descendants were encouraged to go to university and become educated and get good jobs, and although most didn't end up achieving that, enough did that it helped improve the image of Black people in Britain. Another section of Blacks also got into the media and politics, through music, movies, television shows, where they were also heavily pushed by the Left, which again improved their image in British society. Another factor is that most Blacks are heavily concentrated in London, the capital city associated with wealth, business and culture, whereas most Muslims in the UK are more spread out throughout England, so this made it much easier for Blacks to be pushed in the media as it's very London centric, and created a good image for Blacks when they leave London and move to areas outside the UK, as they are associated with being from London, kind of like how Asian Americans may be associated with San Francisco.

Britain itself is more socialist and tolerant in general compared to America, especially amongst middle classes, so people were more ready to accept mixed race couples anyway, especially with Blacks as they have a better image. Now that 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation Blacks are still continuing gang culture and violence, with help from adopting Americanised black culture, and the education gap is narrowing and most British Blacks are actually performing worse, the positive image of Blacks in the UK is starting to change. The arrival of Blacks from African countries with no former British colonial ties (Somalia, Congo, Angola etc.) also hasn't helped. They are still accepted as British, but they are starting to be seen as lower class, similar to African Americans and chavs, whose cultures they are starting to assimilate into anyway.

This process is still ongoing though, and until then, Blacks still have a positive image in Britain and amongst middle class women they are seen as an ideal balance of respectable male partner but masculine (middle class men are mostly quite feminine, conservative right-wing or masculine working class) while also virtue signalling as progressive. Seems like the perfect match at the start but it never lasts long as reality sets in.
