Why do people brag about working long hours? Why isn't LESS unemployment not the overall goal for humanity?
>"I work 100+ hours a week. Everyone else is a lazy pussy" Translation: My personal life is so void of joy that I have convinced myself indentured servitude is virtuous. The reason my life is absent of joy is due to the fact that my long years of employment have robbed me of the free time I would need to reflect on my life and come to the realization that I'm being abused by a system that doesn't give a fuck about me. Alternatively, these long hours just represent how utterly inefficient I am at my job.
I'm not advocating that employment should be non-existent. I put in my time, I'm educated and I'm in a perpetual state of learning to enhance my career. I just find it difficult to grasp how people would elect to work MORE hours instead of less. Are you THAT brainwashed?
>"Why shouldn't we try to reduce the arbitrary 40 hour work week?" >"Wow, don't you understand it's a PRIVILEGE to work!" >"I'm not opposing that. I'm asking what if we worked towards reducing how much we work so we can enjoy more meaningful aspects of our lives." >"I worked 80 hours this week! I can't believe you're complaining about 40!"
Obama Leaf here. I was watching the Owen "the cuck" Benjamin live stream today and he was preaching about how it's cool to work for $10/hour and u should be a slave and work for peanuts and live with 20 roommates.
I'll never understand why conservatives are such fucking cucks that they basically want to be slaves who make money for their masters
I don't know why people like working long hours. They're stupid I guess. I let my money work for me
David Bailey
I like working outdoors. Would work part time if I could. Fuck being a slave.
Chase Mitchell
I'm not implying people deserve anything. Isn't it safe to say though at this point that jobs are less for improving people's lives and more of controlling the population? Half of the jobs being performed are borderline pointless and just keep people busy.
Carson Campbell
My boss is like that. Fucking loser No wonder his wife left him.
Benjamin Bailey
The thing about work is that there's rewards on the other end of it -- stuff that makes us happy
People who want to "work less" are probably involved in stuff they think makes them happy, but is really just a waste of their life. Like drugs, movies/tv, and video games. Or being a whore
Daniel Ortiz
every day i wonder how i can take my NEETism to a higher level.
Grayson Phillips
High Performance people aren't looking to relax from work because they are doing exactly what they want to.
People who think that 40 hours is too long of a work week are clearly doing something they want to escape from.
Sure, everyone needs to relax, primarily for their health. But you equate work with servitude because you are incapable of working for yourself.
You sound like a woman.
Carson Anderson
it's a coping mechanism used to justify their loss of freedom
Jack Anderson
Translation: I don't make enough $$$ to overcome my looks and personality when it comes to making women cum so I am looking for ways successful people are wrong and my failures are not laid at my own feet but everybody else's feet..
The reality is most people aren't doing what they enjoy doing. People who enjoy their work are considered outliers. So you're saying we should build a system around the outliers?
You sound like the exact persona I was describing in my original post.
James Wilson
>Isn't it safe to say though at this point that jobs are less for improving people's lives and more of controlling the population Yes, yes it is. It is absolutely safe to say that "jobs" exist for the purpose of managing the working classes, just as in post-enclosure England, and from preventing people from building wealth, whether material, financial or both, independently of the lordship class.
>being this much of a whipped dog Found the cuck who will never run his own business
>high performance Lol no. They have a disease and they need to be treated.
Found the half-dicked jew shilling for Calvinism
John Jackson
Probably the same reason they brag about how dangerous their town is. A sort of masochism.
Gabriel Scott
So you would rather work longer hours than less? Please answer with yes or no.
Cameron Howard
>Like drugs, movies/tv, and video games. Or being a whore Are those the only hobbies you can think of? Like in your imagination the only things that someone could POSSIBLY be doing outside of work are just fucking, consuming media, or getting high?
You get outside once in a while
Carson Ross
The main difference though is our whole system revolves around work and therefore encourages this behavior.
Christopher Wood
I don’t enjoy work...life should be all fun...you guys are dumb slaves ... the system should be built so i feel good....jesus christ how old are you sweetheart?
Yup. >Adversity breeds strong self-regard and stories of false bravado.
Elijah Moore
Michael Bolton and David Herman are both Jews.
Easton Phillips
I work 35+ hrs a week at a gas station
Apparently I should feel more pride than a NEET even though I'm considered a low life failure by my fellow wage cucks..
Jeremiah Harris
Nothing in life is that simple...so many variables...do you like your work?...is it fullfilling ?....overtime allows me to have money which allows more freedom...more vacation...people don’t work because they need to be controlled people work cause shit needs done the world does not run itself
Leo Peterson
I think in like 95% of cases, it's people trying to give value to their shitty work schedule
I remember doing the same thing in college - I spent an entire week out of my house, bouncing from dorm to apt to library just studying 24/7 for one test. And at the end of all that, I wanted that hard work to mean more than just a fucking test score. I bragged it as a testament to my will and disclipine. I never looked down on anyone who didn't live that type of grind though.
However, in the 5% of cases where its as you described, you are correct. Fuck those stupid peasant class plebian retards
Blake Green
You gota start somewhere
Lucas Clark
I like how took everything I said and turned it into a hyperbole and completely missed all points. Let me guess, you're a rockstar navy seal CEO who fucks 10/10 models everyday for lunch?
Liam Brown
The problem is that this is a never ending economic game that leads to nowhere, NEETs have it right by refusing to play this rigged game.
Liam Rogers
Such people are brainwashed to serve. Brainwashing, of course, makes use of the target's ego and self-righteousness. Their sense of self derives from how good and hard they work (serve).
There are such brainwashed subjects in this very thread. They likely have invested so much of their life into meaningless work they would be unable to overcome the cognitive dissonance required to wake up to this state of affairs.
One need only ask the workaholic - why? why? They cannot answer. The answer is to serve their master, but hey know not this.
Being lazy is worse ...its a lower quality of life for me personally... you all state facts that we already know...alot of slaves are very self aware... many jobs pay well and are fulfilling....plz explain to me your ideas for a better system or the ways you have sucessfully broken the mold? What is your quality of life like?
This right here. My job forgets us to work overtime. Biggest example is forcing us to work five hours on Saturday. I had shit to do so I had to cancel my plans. In return for being treated like a slave I browsed Jow Forums for 5 hours because I'm not a mindless puppet.
Benjamin Ortiz
*forces not forgets
Gavin Diaz
by trying to convince you of something usually means that person is just trying to convince themselves of it. aka they're trying to brag about long work hours in an effort to boost their own ego and also reassure themselves they didn't waste their time. kinda the same psychology as what's behind the "favor" phenomena. to get a stranger to like you more, you actually should ask them for a small favor. studies show that the imevididual will go through logical hoops to reassure themselves they didn't just waste heir time helping you, and you must be important to them otherwise why would you do them a favor? the brain always tries to convince itself it didn't just make a mistake, waste time, or error.
Asher Myers
>Such people are brainwashed to serve Underrated post. >inb4 it can't be underrated yet I'm sure it will be, just beating the Christmas rush.
>alot of slaves are very self aware Doubt it, or they'd understand that they are cucks and stop trying to make excuses for it.
>forces not forgets Better count your hours just to make sure!
Christian Thompson
The trick is working as little as possible and making the most as possible, without working an hour of overtime hardly ever.
Today, it's not so hard to make close to six figures this way. But $50k might be the range for most. Making $150k+ doesn't change anything in one's life, and those jobs tend to be more stress and work hours.
Brayden Diaz
Thanks, I actually have a master's in social psychology. I believe in working hard, but never letting yourself get taken advantage of, or depending on others for validation (that's how they control you).
Workaholics have always creeped me out, which is why I noticed this thread.
Also interesting is that people who don't mind being taken advantage of themselves will also never stick up for others' direct interests. Inversely, people like Trump fight 100% for his own interest and the interest of others.
50 hours a week at a fucking steel factory because they refuse to hire people competent enough to weld correctly. So all the other departments are held up by the welding department. I'm forced to work 9 hour days and 5 hours on a fucking Saturday because another department is behind.
Bentley Thomas
I think its childish if a grown ass man works 40 hours a week or less. You're a man, fucking act like one. What would you even rather be doing? Sitting at home fapping, drinking, getting high, playing video games? Grow the fuck up, put your big boy pants on and get to work. Did you think life was supposed to be fun? This is why I hate my generation, grown ass men still thinking like children.
Nathan Adams
go jew on reddit you patheitc cuck
James Martinez
>Bragging about long work hours That’s an incredibly relative stance considering they could be doing literally anything and it would completely change the context.
Charles Scott
First time I've seen Self Perception Theory referenced on Jow Forums. The small favor/small reward condition is absolutely true. You can see it in everyday life.
Luis Thomas
>Tax cuts for billionaires I want equality under the law. Once you start making special laws for or against groups of people you start down the road to serfdom.
Only cubicle dwellers or women use phrases like "big boy pants"
Adam Parker
It’s going to be hard to get from 5% unemployment to 100% unemployment. Who’s going to quit working first?
Luke Jones
So it never occurred to you that you could build something (business, home, family, organization etc.) for yourself in your free time? The only choice is work or entertainment? That's the baby mentality
Michael Cruz
Keep living in misery or get a better job...your pseudo intilectual banter about wage cucks is extremely tiresome and has been heard over and over again....i hear no examples of a better way ... or anything profound or new...this sounds like entitled millenials who just took their first socialogy/economics class....fucking kek
Ouch, user. I hear there's a lot of call for welders. Maybe this is the same "warm body" syndrome that IT/Internet had twenty years ago?
How about spending time with one's family, you miserable slave cunt? Are you such a half-dicked jew that you can't even conceive of joy anymore, or are you the nigger who gets the profit from barking at your """inferiors"""? Kill yourself, please. The less of your hazardous waste you spew, the better off life will be for all of us.
Ian Williams
You can do that when you get home or on your weekends. Suck it the FUCK up pussy, life isn't easy.
Aiden James
Whoever gets the best buyout package?
Carson Moore
There aren't enough better jobs for all of us, brainlet. You need a class to shit on in order to be bigger than anyone else. The US national bird should have been not a turkey but a chicken. What a nigger!
Cooper Ramirez
Probably, I'm gonna try to take a CNC class and get a job at an armory or something so I can get a job gunsmithing. It's what I do in my free time and I'm decent at it so I figure I could make a job out of it.
Jace Brooks
I believe you said it best so far. Not being taken advantage of is key here. That's really what employment is to some degree. It's unnatural in many ways but it's the best system so far but it needs improvements.
Jeremiah White
>spend 40 hours a week in an office >spend 10 hours a week commuting to and from said job >spend 12 hours in the gym a week >get ridiculed for not working more hours Work week should be 35 hours and the concept of a forced 1 hour lunch is the biggest fucking waste of time ever conceived.
Shut the fuck up you brainwashed boomer faggot. Yeah man I love working 50 hours a week at a factory, it feels so fucking good that my bones pop and creak at 19 years old. But that's just life right? It's not like 50 years ago people barely ever worked overtime or even 40 fucking hours or anything. End yourself you absolute retard.
Carter Morgan
Everyone should progress toward working as few hours as possible. It frees up jobs for younger people, increases productivity and time to yourself/family.
Evan Bennett
You're 19 and don't know shit about life kiddo, get a degree or some skills so you're not 25+ working in a fucking factory.
Even if you don't get a degree or whatever, this is practical knowledge in making stuff that you can generalize to many other applications. This user gets it.
Kill yourself, boomer. The world needs your resources much much more than it needs your butt gas.
Tyler Thomas
Truth be told the idea of working long hours is a boomer ideology and exists for those sole reasons. They dobt want young people to succeed or get a leg in because it threatens their hoard of shekels that may be taken from them.
Kayden Cooper
No character, they made their life their around their work, best goys
Samuel Morris
Okay, gramps.
Parker Gomez
I'd love too, I dont have the money or time to do so working 50 hours a week
Eli Nguyen
You work in the service industry don’t you perhaps some other shithole thats got you down? Not enough skills ,education, experiance to progress?....are you just lazy? If it’s so much better with all your free time why shit on workaholics? Is it because you wish to save them from themselves because your so virtuous ..right?
This user gets it. Working "hard" is just giving away free labor power that the counterparty has no right to expect.
Samuel Morales
Then find time. There are people working 3 jobs just to get by today, suck it the fuck up. I know people working 2 jobs and going to school at night. Everyone is busting ass. Stop crying and get back to work.
Brody Gonzalez
Fuck off boomer. I make more than uni students in their first jobs post uni, at my factory work. Go suck down a Monster, then go suck down a fat dick.
Robert Gomez
>kiddo
This has to be a troll or this the most cliche instance of a boomer I've seen on here.
Matthew Wilson
Independent software developer, but I have done my time in the service industry and plenty of other places. You appear to lack some perspective, as if you were a self-entitled boomer. >workaholics They're scabs, that's why. I wish to save the rest of us from them.
William Campbell
based obamaleaf gets it
Ian Gonzalez
>slave harder Kill yourself, neoilberal.
Adrian Scott
We shot on workaholics because you're retarded brainwashed drones that only work all of your time away because society told you to. You know this so when someone calls you out on it you get hostile and attack people and say shit like "just pull up your bootstraps and work 100 hours like me that's life bucko" when in reality you could be working 40 hours a week and be fine. Get a social life, get a hobby, go outside you faggot.
Lincoln Hall
kys unironically
Jaxon Morris
I work 60 - 80 hours a week and have time for all of that, I'm just not a lazy pussy.
Julian Howard
>whinging about the work instead of busting your ass and using the pay check towards a money making venture in your spare time.
Sebastian Anderson
How else does one justitfy one's own existence?
Anthony Flores
>find time working 9 hour days to take a 9 hour class and get two hours of sleep to go work your hard labor job that requires you to be attentive so that you dont cut off your body parts. Once you kill all of the Boomers this is the final boss.
Dylan Martinez
Imagine working hard only to lose half of your assets to your ex-wife in a divorce
Dominic Perez
Pathetic
Colton Edwards
I dont need the money, I'm financially fine. There is no need for me to work more hours simply because " I gotta get dat money".
Angel Kelly
I work 32hrs per week and make more than my all my peers that work 50+, I could work even less, but I need money for my first apartment.
>Why do people brag about working long hours? Stockholm Syndrome, with corporations filling the part of the kidnapper.
>Why isn't LESS unemployment the overall goal for humanity? Because we live in a corporatocracy where maximizing the labor output from every worker drone is the best way to keep the laborers too busy to think for themselves and insure that wealth continues to be concentrated in the hands of an extremely small global elite.
it's easy when you're job is your hobby ie: drinking beer and repairing car come on now buying power disappeared they as the next generation to work twice more for twice less and menace them to crumble the system if they don't do so we're way past the work more get pay less if an other 2008 happen and taxes bail the bankster out once again when will it end someone will have to do something someday
Ryder Cox
>can't get 1 job that doesn't suck
Thomas Thomas
I know less hours the better..just trying to figure you whiny faggots out.....40 hrs a week...good wage...own my own house...social life ...hobbies..get outdoors alot...gen x...the boomers are dying you little niggerfaggots you don’t need to beat on them so hard because they have already cucked themselves...but some things cannot be accomplished without hard work
Jaxon Clark
Blame my parents, I didn't sign up for this jew shithole.
>dat pic Diamonds
Gabriel Fisher
>40 hrs a week That's uncommon in today's economy. Whose surplus are you skimming?
Christopher Green
I work ~3 months/year and make about $90k. fite me wageslaves
Jackson Clark
Oil and gas?
Jonathan Carter
U need some pussy.png
Jaxson Thomas
Doing what?
Christian Nguyen
From my time in the work force I've known two classes of people that fit this mold.
1.Boomers who upon retirement spiral into failing health and depression 2.Men on prescription amphetamines
Most people I've known who do work supposedly for 60-80 hours a week regularly are miserable and quite obvious about how miserable they are. They seem to not change their path mainly because they can't think of anything else. You're right that it is sad to watch them, the behavior is the same pattern I've seen drug addicts go through, just in a different context.
I work 50 hours a week at a sales job right now. I like what I do, but the wages just support the cost of living and some of the people I work with are total wage cucks who bend over backwards for a company that sees them as a replaceable commodity/ liability if they're not in the upper-tier of salesmen.
I believe handwork should be fairly rewarded and compensated. I will not be exploited for labor for a shitty wage. My bosses, never stop working, even when they're off the clock are total suckers who are getting taken advantage of.
