NASA and ULA are launching a Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying the Parker Solar Probe. If successful it will skim through the sun's upper atmosphere and become the fastest man-made object in history. Yesterday's launch was scrubbed, this is the second attempt. Weather is 95% go.
Coverage has started, liftoff is scheduled for 3:31AM Eastern US time, with a 65 minute window.
Also, wtf why did NASA pay so much money when they can get the same rocket for 1/4th the cost from SpaceX or 1/3rd the cost from Arianespace or 1/10th the cost from Russia???
it's mainly a C3 issue. PSP needs a C3 of 153.79. The STAR 4th "stage" is the main reason DIVH can do this particular mission profile. FH doesn't have the C3 capabilities (basically, how far it can throw something into deep space). FH is great for LEO though

What will people do when the solar probe verifies the electric universe model of the sun?
Hello. My name is Justin Trudeau and I am the Prime Minister of Canada. I enjoy watching my wonderful wife, the joy of my life getting pumped full of verile nigger semen. Sophie is just so beautiful as she gets spit-roasted by all the niggers my taxpayers can afford. The niggerer the better. I jack off into my mommies panties just thinking about how my 'father' let Fidel Castro, The Rolling Stones, their roadies and many, many more do the same. Cuckolding is a long standing Trudeau tradition and as my wife swallows their nigger semen I can't help but think of my upcoming faggot parades when I too, can eat mens cummies. My name is Justin Trudeau and I'm the biggest cockolding faggot ever alive.
Falcon Heavy can easily do this mission with the third-stage, people have done the calculations and it would give this probe about 1.5X more Delta V than the Delta 4 can. The reason Falcon Heavy can't launch this mission is because it's only flown once, and therefore obviously isn't qualified to do high-priority NASA missions; also, the contract for this launch was signed 6 years ago when FH didn't exist...

Oh, no, they found out, shut it down!
Kayden Kelly
Of course french man. Thanks for superior units system. You guys are spared in the upcoming race war.

>also, the contract for this launch was signed 6 years ago when FH didn't exist... OH I GET IT!! They use NASA rocket Launches to show the public some semblance that our money is being used for good purposes when in reality THEY STEAL TRILLIONS FROM US.
Elijah Nguyen
perhaps. But yeah, for a class-B mission like PSP I don't even think Elon would accept the responsibility of putting PSP on FH's 2nd launch ever

Here's a really shitty pic of what you can see from 100 miles away.
