I'm actually planning on getting one, but I'm still unsure about where to go. In Switzerland, Sig550 is the standard rifle (the one everyone has in the army too). It's a highly precise gun and I already know how to operate is. The main problem is that it's 3500$ new and around 2000$ used; but I'm unsure if I want to go with a used one.
The two famous alternatives would be the AK47, which you can get from a chinese manufacturer for about 700$, and an AR15, which are around 1200$.
Any tips from experienced owners? Which one should I go to? At the moment, I'm leaning towards the AR15 since it's considerably cheaper than the Sig550, but uses the same ammo so I won't be stuck with ununsable ammo for my AK if shit hits the fan.

you don't need to print a 3 part mold.
print it in pla, put a few columns on it, and do lost pla casting.
mix sand and plaster in about 1:1, let it dry for a week, and then put it in the oven to dry/melt out the pla to make your investment.

If you go for AK, Bulgarians with machined receivers are probably best ones around, more expensive than Chinese or Russians with wheel of fortune quality control. Cheapest AR-15's tend to have rather low production quality, manufacturers usually skim on things like surface treatment of components to drive down costs. Good AR's in Europe are almost as expensive as Sg550.
