That house has access to any job in San Antonio and it's in one of the best school districts. Obviously if you are fine with not being within an hour of a 50,000 person city that can get you a high paying job you can settle for less. I've actually been impressed by new home construction. The plumbing and wiring are made from ultra-reliable systems that are really only vulnerable to rats/racoons. my only gripe is that after 70 years of home building, no one sets in a proper foundation. its literally just poured slab over dirt. By this fact, modern homes are fundamentally flawed. Without buried piers for a foundation to rest on, Soil contraction from a drought can cause shifting and sewer breaks. and once the sewer line breaks, your home is pretty living on borrowed time.

my last job in Texas was in foundation repair. steel piers that go all the way down to bedrock are the way to go in Texas soil, which expands and contracts due to its wet and dry seasons and heavy absorbtion, especially along the chernozem belt, which is where Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio are built. any other system that I know of is going to fail, even concrete piers, unless you have super shallow bedrock, since concrete piers can't go nearly as deep.

remember, I said foundation repair. nobody ever wanted this installed on new houses, because it's more expensive, even though it's MUCH cheaper in the long run than pushing your house back up every few years. and a lot of people who were getting ready too sell their house would reject our company and settle for concrete piers as well, because it was cheaper and wouldn't be their problem soon. absolutely infuriating.
