I pull over, get my papers ready, crack the window. Slip them through when directed, inform him that I've got my lawyer on speaker phone, and stop talking. Retrieve my papers and the ticket when he gets back and go on my way. If he wants to search I insist on a warrant and let him know my lawyer is sending out a paralegal right now to witness the search and observe my safety.

I have a $10k retainer with the lawyer, that he holds onto as a deposit against future representation and phone calls like this. After each incident I top it off based on rates we agreed to in advance and we renew the contract every three years. If I ever wind up arrested this shit may just save my life, totally worth it.

The weirdest thing that ever happened to me was getting pulled over on the motorway, and then the cops kept harassing me on my reason for being on the motorway in the first place.
I think some idiot had been pulling stunts in a same model and color car as mine or something, because I can't find any other explanation.
Anyway they kept me stopped for 20 minutes while ostensibly checking the papers, had me take an alcohol test and then let me go.
