The Democrats also poured $15 million in the race. That money can turn almost any district competitive; they won't be pouring that kind of money into districts come November. Also more Republicans will turn out in November compared to how they are turning out in the special elections while Democrats won't see as much of a bump in their turnout levels. Pretty much all the Democrats in those districts had showed up to vote in the special elections, while many more Republicans can be rallied to turn out in those same districts come November
