How long does a nation or a people group have the right to an area of land? For example the Silesian and east Prussian lands were in german control for centuries when the Soviets expelled all Germans and gave the territory to Poland and Russia. And while the Danzig area once belonged to Poland, the theft of Königsberg was completely illegitimate.
The problem is this: the last German inhabitants of those lands start going extinct and the next generation of Poles/Russians has already grown up there. Who has a right to it? I realize the 2+4 treaty forbids Germans from laying claim to anything. What about American Indians? Does conquest qualify you to a righteous claim? What about a gift of land?
Remember, the Jews claim Israel to be theirs, although the last Jewish nation there died 2000 years ago.But what do you think?
youtube.com/watch?v=ScnD3pRoh9k Irrelevant was irgendwer sagt. Russland war bereit uns die Ostgebiete bei der Wiedervereinigung zurück zu erstatten und ist dem immer noch offen gegenüber eingestellt

I had no idea... But even if we would regain those lands, what would happen to the poles who live there?

>How long does a nation or a people group have the right to an area of land? as long as they can defend it

So Israel's fine then? Border wall makes it legitimate!
Andrew Stewart
>But even if we would regain those lands, what would happen to the poles who live there?
They'd stay there according to that deal.
I don't think the Ostgebiete will ever come back under German control unless Germany uncucks itself and fights a war over it

>And while the Danzig area once belonged to Poland It belonged to Poland far longer that it belonged to g*Rmoids
> the theft of Königsberg was completely illegitimate. Wholeheartedly agree. The 1525 homage submited Królewiec and sorrounding area known as Ducal Prussia as an eternal fief of the crown of Poland.

Honestly, pretty much. They lost it in a sucession of wars. Israel will eventually have to give that land back in a futile attempt to barter peace but yeah, that is Jew clay now.
Just like how Bangladesh is not part of Pakistan. Pakistan lost fair and square in their war with India/East Pakistan in the 1970s.
its about english "common law", and also what is considered "natural law"
if the land has a concept of legal transfer between peoples, fine, if there isnt, then as far back in history they can go with some kind of proofs, is the determining factor
Christian Scott
Pretty much this. I'm sorry my German friends. You have no idea just how much I'd give to do a tour of Imperial Germany or the Third Reich in its heyday from the Maas to the Memel but the American is right. 'Your' land is only what you are able to take and defend from others. Good news though, that rule is universal. So once you become strong enough again you can take back those lands and reverse the expulsions of WWII. And just to stick it to the Poles you can call those regions the 'Recovered Territories' once you take them back.

Day 1213 Germans are still butthurt about muh lands get over it, for fucks sake
Ah Fun fact Both Eastern Germany and Western Germany revoked their claims
Grayson Myers
Muh "rightful land" and "territorial claims" are mostly a meme. Both sides can find a way to spin the truth their way and make their claim look legitimate, just look at the crimea. In the end the land rightfully belongs to those who take it.

You got your arse raped (literally) twice until now, isn't that enough? That picture of comparison between an autist and Germany comes to mind every time I see this pathetic shit.
>muh land
Take care of you back garden first.

Silesia should be independent. BUT the gib me dat coal miners should be all fired and their mines privatized. The eastern Polish refugees who came in the 40's and 50's should be expelled, and the authority should be given to the prince of Pless.
