You don't seem to understand how pardons work any better that trump does. First, pardons only cover federal crimes. State crimes are still wide open. Second, accepting a pardon is considered an admission of guilt in the eyes of the law and your fifth amendment rights are suspended. Once a pardon is accepted, you can no longer take the fifth in a court of law. Third, a pardon doesn't get you out of testifying. All it does is force you to testify with no fifth amendment cover. What all of this means it that this case isn't all that affected by pardons. Worst case scenario is that Trump is protected from prosecution until he leaves office. The FBI is fine with that. The day he leaves office, it will all be waiting for him. The only difference is that by then, he will probably have lost the ability to save his family from prosecution. Pardons aren't going to end this or save anyone.

A pardon only works in cases of a conviction, and since one was already convicted of the crime, one cannot be prosecuted a second time for the same crime. So there's no risk of self-incrimination on that particular issue.
