Not debunked but they developed National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), another method of reporting and tracking these statistics in the late 80's because UCR is very limiting in data that it uses and unreliable.
Theres also National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) which is a little more reliable and accurate but is mainly used in Urban areas.
Main difference between NCVS and UCR is that UCR data is collect and reported by police and NCVS data is collected by a census who talk to victims. Together they both supplement each other.
