I can't prove you wrong because you're right. I would like to add that this is just a case study on a single patient with a very specific pathology so we cannot say for certain that pimo will work on all of them. However as pointed out many, if not all, of them have some kind of trauma that may have precipitated their current mental illness and we have many different types of treatment for dealing with the repercussions of such trauma.

All of this is to say that the idea that transitioning is the only way to treat them is a political opinion not a scientific one, many psychiatrists don't have any experience or a significant opinion on trannies and so defer to the "experts"

Yes they do. GID was removed from the DSM and replaced with gender dysphoria.

Like I said, the illness. Any other delusion or body dysmorphia gets treated as something that needs to be stopped. GID gets treated like it's perfectly normal and that their body is wrong rather than their mind.

There are several instances where people who have been looking at things like detransitioning have been shut down or smeared because it goes against the current dogma. You'll also notice a dearth of alternative treatment research on the issue.

I don't disagree with that, what I generally dislike with this is the mid-20th century-style confusion that usually follows in the minds of reactionaries; that it being a mental illness makes it essentially equivalent to it being sinful and therefore it's permissible to persecute such people. Nobody would entertain this logic about schizophrenia or clinical depression, but it certainly seems to follow here.
