Real talk: here's the difference. Government agencies in America are restricted by Congress in what they can and can't do, and how they are to be structured and carry out their business. Congress is completely inept at this and it affects the government agencies immensely.

Corporations are free to make their own internal rules for carrying out business and are only prohibited by regulations from doing certain things. Very rarely are corporations positively controlled by regulations (as in, you MUST do this rather than you MUSTN'T do this).

This makes corporations much more efficient and capable that government agencies every single time. Additionally, if a corporation violates your rights, it's very easy to take them to court and win a lawsuit, or settle out of court, and get some kind of justice. When a government agency violates your rights it is borderline IMPOSSIBLE to take them to court and get justice. It generally doesn't happen, and when it does, it's usually decades later (look at the internment of Japanese-American citizens in WW2, the SCOTUS upheld it at the time and the government didn't even apologize until the late 1990s early 2000s).

That's why Americans prefer private corporations over government agencies.
