Romanian in Italy here, it's pretty bad but as you said yourself, it's understandable why people hate us. Being Romanian is basically the same as being a criminal, and honestly I think it's ok this way. I've learnt to accept it and hate "my people" too, not even the gypsies, just all Romanians. Obviously there are exceptions as always but it is true that most of us in foreign countries are fucking scum. Little blog story time: my father, very hardworking man, worked very hard jobs all his life, refusing to do legal yet immoral stuff with some of his old "friends" for money, recently got a new job in Germany and had to move there. The job pays good money and it just so happens that there's a lot of Romanians working there, so he accepted, but it's still hard to leave your family behind at 55. Well, they had another Romanian guy to cook for them where they stay. They gave him money to buy food, and he was also being paid to cook for them. Literally the second day he ran away with about 600 euro. Let me say this again, the guy had a decently paid job where all he had to do was cook, but he decided to just ran away with 600 euro instead, money stolen from people he knew for many years.
I know it means little, but it just ultimately opened my eyes on how much cancer Romanians are.
