Have been a customer of REI for years, however over the last couple years I have began to notice how fucking sexist they are towards men in their marketing and how they glorify the roast.
Look at their website, on almost 80-90% of their marketing and splash pages you see women, not men, men are nowhere to be found.
Just received their end of summer catalog in the mail, it is also 90% women.

The Sierra Club is definitely part and parcel to the large forest fires we have been experiencing, due to them not allowing lands to be cleared of brush and other fuels.
This is in Arizona. If you go up to the Wynn Campground in Greer, Az, you can see the delineation line of a ravaged forest that was lost to a fire. Immediately next door on the Apache White Mountain Reservation, they have a healthy forest, because they allowed loggers to come in and take dead trees, do underbrush clearing and thin out some of the unecessary timber.
Supporting REI supports the Sierra Club. That club has no interest in conserving our lands for future use.
