>The Iraqi government is working on the implementation of the "Bismayah" housing project, which is the largest in the history of the country. The project is being implemented by a South Korean company and aims to provide 100,000 housing units for 600,000 people.
The largest housing project in Iraq
Why would anybody invest in Iraq?
>March, 2010. The Iraqi government announces the National Housing Program, a residential construction project that would create over 1 million new homes. Iraq's National Investment Commission (NIC) designates Bismayah, located 10km southeast of Baghdad, as the first city development project. As Iraq's biggest city development project ever in its history, the Bismayah New City Project sprawls across an area of 1,830 hectares, with plans to accommodate up to
600,000 occupants within 100,000 residential units; in addition, infra-networks such as roads, electricity, water and waste management, along with a cohesive social groundwork of public facilities for commerce, education, and welfare, will make this project a perfect execution of modern urban construction.
large population that are prepared to live like insects
More places to turn into fucking rubble
>Be American
>Get an apartment in the city
>No parking space
>Dream City is laid out as a ring of towns surrounding an extensive, central business district. The towns will hold a total of 834 residential towers, and in each of them, buyers can choose from three sizes of apartments – 100m2, 120m2 and 140m2.
>The apartment designs are either Modern or Traditional. Towers are designed to be either wholly of modern or traditional design, and they alternate for harmonized effect throughout the city plan.
it wont work, pic related
Fuck commie-blocks
Will it be another Cabrini Green? We'll soon find out!
12 buildings are grouped together to form one block (e.g. Block A-1), and several blocks together form a "town." (e.g. A Town) 1,440 residential units are slated for completion in early 2015, within Block A-1, with additional 20,000 units being available every year thereafter, totaling 100,000 residential units completed within 5 years.
>In 2010, NIC began early planning for Bismayah, working with Hanwha E&C. Their cooperation led on to Hanwha E&C taking on responsibility for the planning and design of Dream City.
>Building began with at the residential zones – entirely as apartment towers – and then site work began on the social infrastructure (including schools). For these tasks, Hanwha E&C has two initial turnkey contracts with NIC, signed in mid-2012 and early 2015; the contracts are valued at approximately US$8 Billion (with an escalator clause) and US$2.1 Billion, respectively.
>Hanwha E&C’s leadership has shown strong commitment to the project, investing much resource and manpower to establish, maintain and push ahead with Bismayah project despite the dangers and challenges in post-war Iraq. It recognises that the Dream City is a vital new step, and catalyst, in the country’s vision for the future.

What's Jow Forums's opinion on iraqi commieblocks?
>Housing units will be offered for a down payment of only $6,300, with the rest being paid over a term of 20 years.
>Flats in Baghdad in comparison are far pricier, and buyers are required to pay for the apartments in one lump sum.
Same concept as buy low sell high.
Iraq has good economic potential as it returns to political and social stability. ISIS is back to a low level insurgency in a few areas only (Diyala, Nineveh, Kirkuk provinces), so it is likely the rest of the country grows economically. They have lots of oil and good agricultural output. The population is relatively young as well. Iraq used to be quite wealthy before the Gulf War.
If shiites live there, the sunnies will blow it up and visa versa.
poor guys. Looks like persian banlieus
so they want commieblocks
Don't fall for their lies, this is obviously anti-invasion militia and military defence emplacements disguised as housing.
>......aaaaand it’s been bombed
This thing better come with it’s own air defense system.
