When they say "90% growth in the welfare sector" what does that mean? Healthcare? Surely it's not 90 percent are on welfare (which is likely true but will never be admitted to.)

What does even labor participation rate mean?
The government pays shitskins to be helpers at subways. But most of all the government subsidies shitskins in the workforce. Meaning a company pays 5-10% of the salary while the government pays for the rest. On top of this a pretty fresh study by an autistic economy professor showed that migrants as a whole group is a net-loss of about 70k crowns (~7k usd) per year per capita. The calculation was based on their whole lifetime. The initial cost for the first 10 years is A LOT higher. It takes roughly 8-10 years for a migrant to get a job (several which ofc is subsidised).

Fascinating. Now hear me out.
Sweden's nominal GDP per capita is $53K.
If half of that gets redistributed to non-working immigrants, that means net GDP per Swede (=money and state services received) is on par with Spain ($28K).
If 75% of GDP is re-distributed (i.e. effective 75% tax rate on working Swedes), net GDP per Swede would be on par with Poland or Hungary ($14K). This may very well be the case, because Sweden looks similar to Poland in quality of life, despite nominally higher GDP.
Now it's getting interesting. Another doubling of immigrant population would bring a net GDP per Swede to a $7-8K level, which is that of Bulgaria but also that of Gabon. Next doubling of immigrants means $3.5K, which is Tunisia-tier. Getting to Congo and Bangladesh tier would require yet another doubling, and only at that level you could logically expect the immigrant influx to stop due to no difference in quality of life.
So it basically means that Sweden would have to take 8-16x the current amount of immigrants before the influx would stop naturally due to Sweden becoming Bangladesh-tier shithole.
Of course this is unlikely to happen, because that you would rather expect white Swedes to be genocided somewhere along the way, leading to a Zimbabwe-style collapse.

I just looked this up. Sweden currently has a labor participation rate of around 73%. That's for the entire population. I can't find any statistics on the labor participation rate for foreigners, but it's definitely lower than the total. The unemployment rate among foreigners (born abroad) is 15.1%, compared to 4.4% for those born in Sweden. Note that the latter also includes second generation immigrants (the ones who are burning cars etc).

Note also that unemployment rate includes everyone, including European immigrants. Africans usually have around 30% unemployment, and certain groups, like the Somali, have over 50%.

What Sweden has achieved is a quite remarkable thing, a population generally that accepts giving away most of their money because they trust the authorities. Sweden has historically had one of the highest levels of trust in the government on the planet, and this is how it has been possible to keep the taxes so high. It's also a very fragile thing, which is why the Nordic countries are so unique.

I don't know what to tell you. It's not really a thing in Sweden that old people work. Sometimes you will see them working for charity causes like selling lottery tickets outside the super market, but that's on a voluntary basis.

People that aren't actively seeking work don't count towards unemployment rates. Sweden probably registers people on social benefits as "employed". It happens here too
