He is a experienced Bush crafter and was last spotted in the vogezen.

I found a German YouTube link to what he was doing before he went missing.
The site wildkamperen.nl deleted his missing articles as soon as the news broke of the murder.

He was 35 at the time of Nicky's Verstappen death in 1998. Was involved with a scouts organization, had worked briefly in a kindergarten, and was subject of a sexual abuse investigation.

He also happened to pass by the field where Nicky Verstappen's body was found while the investigation was ongoing, in the dead of night.
