I don't suggest it. It's a stalled conflict and waste of time. There are young fighting age men there now who sit in cafe in donyetsk. If you really want to, get a visa, go to rostov, cross to ukraine and join. you can just take a taxi or something. either militia or republican guard, it shouldn't be hard to find somebody to take you. be careful though. They fight in trench positions. they have little and poor equiptment. buy things in rostov before you go. they do not care for your life and use ridiculous and outdated tactics. you will have too few magazines and no radio. There is little to no combined arms. I suggest you don't do it.

Literally just find a faction in Donbass online, contact them through Whatsapp and get a plane to Kiev. Once you can speak fluent Russian and have some kind of legal residence in Ukraine you can apply to join the proper Ukrainian army.

Back in 2015 we all thought it was going to be a new Spanish Civil War, just a prelude to a larger conflict that would drag everyone in. But Putin knows his limits and he knows he doesn't need to conquer all of Central Europe to get his way.
