Its the responsibility of the individual to listen to multiple sources of news, especially the smaller sources, who have more to gain from being truthful, because their reputation is more important to their resume, than you would see in larger organizations (CNN, Fox News) who have a larger trusted user base, and can absorb smaller blows to their reputation, and are targeted more by political organizations to report things in biased ways because larger organizations have greater reach.
We have to listen to multiple sources of alternative media, even in places like Jow Forums, where people have in the past, posted as first hand sources to many major events, sometimes even debunking what was reported in the MSM.
We need to be prepared to listen to alternative sources of media and be skeptical as a society. Never before has it been this way.

Freedom of speech is a core principle to Liberalism. Anyone who is opposed to it is not a Liberal.
Also in this day and age corporations don't have a monopoly on reporting anymore. They want to control the narrative but their actions of destroying their platforms have shown that these people are evil.
You sort of have to be able to enforce that sort of shit, so it's not really a solution if you can't.

They used to brag about how AM radio and TV were for conservatives and dead media (called it dinosaur media), and the internet was for lefties (like Alex Jones in the Bush years) were the "alternative-media"
Now that everyone's a conservative shitty radio and TV is all the lefties have and they can't keep the "alternative-media" so they're trying to purge the entire internet of dissent. On a macro scale its really funny.
This isn't really even about conservative or liberal. It's about SCOPE. They don't want people even sharing ideas that may enlighten people on the bigger picture or questioning mainstream narratives.
