Too smug. A lot of the left memes I see are just talking points meant to confront people who dare disagree with them. The righties have a much better sense of humor about themselves, no claim to moral purity, so there is genuine humor there. Just because it's offensive to lefties does not mean that a good meme is offensive. Many great memes are, but that is incidental.

To be a good memer(tm) requires high intuitivity to "get" things. On the internet, especially here, the people on the right-wing tend to be highly intuitive (as well as being much more introverted and logician), more so than usual in your average rural town or farm in America.

A lot of liberal normies that invaded the Internet aren't all that intuitive and simply don't really "get" memes. It's bad enough that they steal memes they don't quite understand and even WORSE when they try to make their own. Now couple this with a bleeding heart liberal who posts political memes and you get the worst memes ever created. The left can absolutely meme. It happens from time to time. It's not that the left can't meme it's that they tend to create heavily moderated groups where dissent is banned instantly. This creates a feedback loop of shitty memes not getting called out because the meme agree's with that groups narrative. The quality means little if it says the right thing.

With scrutiny of something with the "right" message being a taboo you don't have a proper environment for good memes to rise to the top.
