the defendents "couldn't meet the terms of release" Meaning they didn't have a physical address for a location they would stay at, because they don't have a home. So they weren't released. And since they couldn't be released, they were still in custody for over 20 days. And Prosecutors did not know that they weren't released. Prosecutors could have filed an extension, but they did not. Defense lawyers claim that the rules are the rules, and the judge agreed for the first three. The final two guys (the ringleaders) are probably going to get off as well, but they have newer charges (from Friday) and an Extradition request from Georgia.
