Women are biologically predisposed to be ruled by their impulses and emotions.

To feel good is to think you're doing good and to do good in the eyes of others and be witnessed doing that is to unleash a sense of righteousness that rival dopamine highs from exercise and clean diet.

People are taught to look after people that cannot take care of themselves and appearing to support that gets you kudos, pats on the back and a feel good high that only women appreciate (because they don't have the foresight to know they're destroying something else for that momentary good feeling).
