I want a real discussion on this. I believe America can be saved if we change our culture.
My top five suggestions: 1. Education must be idolized at all costs. 2. Community service must be seen as the highest form of good. 3. Marriage must be made sacred again. 4. Physical fitness should be celebrated. 5. Being calm and well-mannered should be the social model for males and females.
I have no idea how to start implementing something like this, changing the culture of a nation takes a century or more.

I can confirm that I have seen people from different races that follow a fully American culture. I think ones peers highly influence ones personality. For example, Alaska has whites, blacks, hispanics and Natives, but they are mostly pro gun etc..

I think education needs to be massively decentralized and deregulated. Little red schoolhouses were very local, and a single class spanned many ages. The older children would help to educate the younger, and having to explain a subject to someone else makes you much more familiar with it. In my local school, if a teacher wants to do something interesting or different, the required hoop-jumping is astounding. Mostly, they're obligated to follow the lousy workbooks handed down from on high. Shrink schools, and make it easy to shop around locally.
