Energy Drinks are far worse than coffee or tea. One a week isn't going to do you any real damage, but doing it even daily can be bad. I don't know how bad the situation is in the UK, but if every teenager is drinking one or two a day? Then again it all could just be bullshit.

This is only England. Scotland can easily set its own laws in regards to this and so can even Wales and Northern Ireland. A consultation got opened up just a day or two ago for parents to tell the government if they want a ban for under 16s or under 18s. The law is going to happen no matter what, it's just a matter of choosing what age restriction it will be.

If 18 is chosen then energy drinks will have to be moved to the alcohol section and cans will need to have an 18+ symbol on them, much like lager cans.

I drink strong coffee once in a while that has about that amount, and if I have no caffeine tolerance the effects of it are quite strong and last for hours. It doesn't feel the same as beer but I'd say that amount of caffeine is "stronger" than an average beer. Kids probably shouldn't have easy access to it.
