the best advice i can give is to think about how we get history.

lets say WW2 was back in the 1940s (which it was). In my youth i could talk easily to vets from the war and get a first hand account. Most of those are gone if not all at this point. My dads generation would have had the opportunity to of learned even more than mine did. Kids today will never have first hand knowledge about WW2. I only have second hand knowledge. The closer to the event the better the info.

Funny enough I was quite anti religion until a finnish mormon missionary stoped me in the street and I didnt want to be mean so I ended up atending one of their meetings. They seemed a loooooooot happier than the "free thinker" that I was. I dont really know what to tell you other than the things that made me believe, given that I ve been baptized for so long but only started my relationship with god for a few months. I am in law school, today I couldnt study, said 'fuck it" and I started praying . Then I was able to study like never before. I studied more in a few hours than in the last 2 weeks. For someone who has found God, he is apparent in all that is; but you won’t see him until you know him.

The first step for me was deism; accepting the universe logically must have been created, then asking why if God was absent or uncaring. Certainly there must be a reason for manifestation rather than simply computing the numbers and recognizing instantly all things that could ever happen.
For me that answer came in the form of uncomputable variables: the actions of a being free of his will. This would necessitate manifestation and, quite literally, be the “first” thing God would actually “do”.

I spent a lot of time meditating on the possible qualities of God, holding debates in my own head for hours over days. When I thought I had a reasonable handle on that, I focused on those qualities and began to pray for more insight on what God was. Eventually I started praying to God to help with my character.

It was a long process, and through serendipity in prayer one evening I caught myself lying about myself (to God, no less!) and in habit left over from childhood I muttered “Jesus Christ, what is wrong with me?”. Now, in my mind I had not considered myself to be praying to the Christian God all this time but for want of a better term, “the spirit moved me” in that moment.

Almost sardonically, I refocus and pray “Jesus, please forgive me” and was baptized by fire in that moment, euphoria crashed in waves and my whole body was vibrating, shaking violently. I was in a state of transcendental bliss for perhaps half an hour, weeping tears of joy as electric pleasures pulsed through my body.

I’ve done my share of drugs, but nothing comes close to this feeling. I was cleansed and felt whole.
