This is the 7th guilty plea secured by Robert Mueller. Patten's plea agreement with the US Justice Dept. includes agreement to work with the special counsel's office and other law enforcement authorities that the dept. deems relevant for cooperation.
"A business associate of Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian consultant indicted by the United States, solicited a U.S. citizen to act as straw purchaser to buy Trump inauguration tickets for a Ukrainian oligarch."
Kilimnik was Manafort's Russian Intelligence handler, and is his co-defendent in the indictment pending trial in the DC court. According to Bloomberg's reporting, the oligarch in this specific case is believed to be Serhiy Lyovochkin, deputy head of the Pro-Russia "Opposition Bloc" party in Ukraine that was constructed to advance Putin's interests in the aftermath of Euromaidan and is considered the successor to the Pro-Putin "Party of Regions".
Patten's proffer happened three months ago, and just like Papadopoulous, not the slightest hint of an indictment or plea was leaked. Mueller runs a tight ship. The Statement of Offense includes lying to the Senate, which is significant because all sorts of characters are widely believed to have been shown to have lied to the Senate by information that has come to light since their testimony, including Erik Prince, Michael Cohen, and Donald Trump Jr.
