I was telling people in other threads that the case being thrown out at the local level wasn't the end of the world or even a big deal. Not only could those same prosecutors have brought charges via a grand jury after the initial dismissal of the case, but there was always the federal option.
It's not THAT easy to truly get away with shit based on a technicality. You might get it dropped once in one jurisdiction, but the locals may be able to bring the charges again OR the feds could choose to go after you depending on just what you did.
