Some of us honestly can't. My form of clinical depression is almost completely solved by caffeine, before I get shit about stop being a bitch without caffeine I literally get paralysed. My face feels firm, smiling is a physical effort, moving is difficult and I sleep up to 12 hours a day. Caffeine solves this.

I've thought about it, I'd rather live a decent life than a truly clean life. Without caffeine I don't think I'd be capable of a real job.

It's an extreme solution. I've done this:

Lie down with your stomach up. Do not touch your Uruguayan willy. Inspire the air through your nose. Count to three. Expire all the air slowly through your mouth, the longer you take it the better... Count to three. Inspire...
Do it with your eyes close and count to ten, you'll probably feel more relaxed and ready to sleep afterwards.

I'll agree with all of that except no fapping. You should quit for a few weeks and then go ahead but without porn. Did nofap for almost a month then again for a few weeks. Didn't change much the second time around and my balls just hurt. You find out soon enough that porn is the problem, not fapping. You do it far less when you don't have a medium that serves up whatever you want at a moment's notice. My problem is really I have too much to do. I have kids, work part time and I'm finish my degree. I'm exhausted all the time, and constantly returning to my vices to deal with the stress, cause I know if I fuck up in school or make any mistakes my family is fucked. An user update and motivation for anyone else out there. I quit drinking, weed and drugs two weeks ago. Let me tell you it's been hard, but not that hard. I had to tell my friends, normally something I scoffed at, but it makes all the difference because now I have their support and know not to invite me out binge drinking so I don't feel like I'm missing out. It's felt like two months and I often have dreams where I cave in and start drinking, which feels bad until I wake up. Sleep is starting to normalize again and generally speaking, I feel clear minded and kind of good.

I still indulge in caffeine and nicotine gum and cigars. That likely won't change soon. Junk food is still an issue, but it's generally low and I'm talking this one step at a time.

At risk of feeling powerless in the modern world, I'm going to start using my gym membership and maybe sign up for kick boxing.

Something that needs to be mentioned is idle time. Truly the devil's play thing. Always wanted to write a screenplay, read that book, paint that painting? Get on it anons. Wasted time cannot be recovered.
