Louisiana

How is life in louisiana? It is one of the blackest states. Is it any nice? How are the areas around the state? TN user but never been to louisiana before so wondering how my fellow southern state is doing

Lafayette is nice.
It is the heart of Acadiana.

It's the second best state after Texas

That does seem like a nice city

Are there a lot of french speakers down there

Bump, how present is french language here?

No, this place is a complete and utter shithole. I live in Metairie, suburb of New Orleans and while it's not the worst place on Earth, fuck I hate it here. I only live in Metairie because I don't want to get robbed or burgled living in New Orleans.

First off, you have the crime, which in Metairie isn't very high, but in the city it's terrible.
Then you have the hurricanes every other goddamn year, flooding anytime it rains a few inches too much, the fact that we're below sea level here.
The rest of Louisiana is actually worse though, because there's outside of New Orleans, and maybe Baton Rogue and other major cities, it's rural christcuck retardsville where there's literally NOTHING to do, complete and total flyover waste of time.

But there's some good food if you like to eat I guess, and the fact that New Orleans is unique culturally and there's actually a lot to do here makes it slightly tolerable, but fuck I want to move out of this shithole and go somewhere there's not hurricanes, not flooding and I can actually have a fucking basement and not store all my bullshit in a garage.

Basically, come to New Orleans to visit, and then get the fuck out because there's nothing worth staying here for. Jobs suck ass, the weather is nice I guess when it's not flooding and it doesn't really get cold here in winter aside from 1-2 days. Oh, and the housing market here is pretty garbage. Not as bad as major cities like NYC / California, but it's not cheap to rent and you will need roomates if you're income is low (which it will be because there's no jobs worthwhile here outside of the service industry).

Still present, although the accent would be heavy for metropolitan France. I had 2 roommates from Mandeville, one guy's last name was Phélypeaux which is French as fuck.

hell on earth with niggers killing you constantly

no one speaks french (at least not in new orleans), but everyone pretends like they're super into french culture, adding "eaux" to fucking everything and copy pasting fleur-de-lis's on every surface.

Houma nigger here. Yea metarie is a hellhole. There are many many nice places in Louisiana. Stay away from Baton rouge and Nola. The North Shore of New Orleans is nice, hammond etc. Louisiana proud.

Pretty much this. The Lafayette area has some old Francophones.

I should also mention how corrupt this state is in general in terms of our elected officials.

Everyone is a goddamn crook here. Everyone. Not to mention the fact that our healthcare system here is trash, our hospitals trash, and we rank last, or near last in pretty much every category that you measure a state's success on, such as infrastructure, education, finance, job opportunity, etc.

Last time I heard Louisiana was ranked last among state rankings, not even Mississippi could save us this time.

Mississippi is a nice place outside some areas though

This. My wife is from Raceland and the entire area is fucking shit. You have like a 50% chance to grow up a coalburning junkie. Not good odds for anyone. People can be nice but everything else sucks. All the old people are fat as shit and entertain themselves by starting drama on Facebook as there is nothing else to do. And by drama I mean ending 20 years of family tradition over arguing about a veggie tray. Real petty shit. Fuck Louisiana.

If I were to stay in Louisiana, I would move to the North Shore. Cheaper housing, and its higher in elevation. My family used to live in Covington, my dad built his parents a house there that they lived in before they died. All my relatives have moved out of state since Katrina though, and my grandparents, the only ones that stayed behind (on both sides of the family) are all dead.

I'm just scared shitless of another Katrina. I know it's inevitable that it will happen again. They've been working on the levees where I live for over a year now, raising them up and they're still not done because they're so fucking slow. If we get another major storm even without levees breaching flooding will be an issue because of the incompetent Sewerage and Water board that doesn't have the resources to clean out all the catch basins that need cleaning.

Gulf coast MS is pretty nice. I actually almost moved to Biloxi / Ocean Springs years ago before Katrina. Thank god my parents never moved there because we would have been wiped out.

I moved back here with my dad years ago since he got a job working here, and now I'm stuck driving lyft and uber because all the other work here is absolute shit. All the schools in New Orleans suck too, like you basically HAVE to enroll your kids at a private Christian school for them to succeed. Higher education is pretty crap too, UNO is cheap but it's pretty crappy in terms of quality of education. Jewlane is expensive as fuck unless you got a scholarship, and most students are from out of state anyways. There's always LSU but fuck living in Baton Rogue.

The Saints are the sole thing I would miss if I ever did move away from here, the Pelicans too I guess. I would be depressed if I couldn't go to games.

I work in Gretna. We keep the niggers from NOLA and Harvey away, and our own niggers contained in the Greens and in McDonogh.

The Police here don't fuck around.

Please answer this

How is it compared to other North American varieties of French?

This is what Metro New Orleans thinks of Gretna

Attached: tumblr_ncdz9zRida1s4df8ko1_1280qq.png (1280x600, 1.25M)

There is some, but it's not "french" french. And most parents quit teaching cajun french to their kids though because they wanted their kids to be successful in anglo America, so within about a generation cajun french nearly died out. Most of the people who speak it are elderly.

Same police in metairie, JPSO right?

Don't be fooled by the people who say that Parisian French is the only "real" French, they're just Parisians

From what I've read online over the years, suburban New Orleans prior to Katrina was quite nice. But in the last decade it's become a massive shithole. Don't know much about the rest of the state.

It sounds really different IMO. My one roommate kinda spoke it, but it's not like he used it regularly. Most the time it was people pestering him to say shit. Here's a vid.

youtu.be/mL60ILVndzs

Last time I ever went to Gretna was to go to the courthouse there for Jury duty.

school for kids who had no other choice is accurate as fuck though. No one actually goes out of their way to attend UNO, it's just a local school and if you don't have money or want to take out loans and go elsewhere, it's cheap and serviceable.

my sister used to live in "scary place," off claiborne before her and her roomates got home invaded and moved the fuck out of there. idk whichever of her friends had the dumbass idea to move there in the first place though, it's hood as fuck.

>I'd get depressed if I couldn't watch overpaid Africans throw a ball into a hoop and waste a ton of money to do so

It was a shithole before Katrina, actually probably has gotten better since then since so many blacks relocated to Houston after the storm.

New Orleans is gentrified in many places though, whites and blacks mostly live separately, most blacks live in New Orleans East, most whites live in Metairie / Kenner and the more upscale neighborhoods of NOLA such as the garden district, Audubon, around tulane and whatnot.
White hipsters took over Gentilly and Bywater after Katrina.

No. Gretna has its own police force. I've had to deal with them after my car got broken into at work. They found the guys in a few hours and returned all my stuff to me.

They hit the parking lot at my work. I left my car unlocked (I know...stupid), and they went in and took a handful of change, a cell phone charger and a check book. They also hit about 3 other cars.

The cop who caught one of the guys still had him in the back of his car when he called me and told me to come outside. He gave me my stuff back right there. The cop then MADE the guy apologize to me.

When asked, the cop said that the guy lived in Algiers and lost his "Gretna rights", as in if they saw him in Gretna again, he would just go straight to jail. No questions asked.

They're based as fuck!

I've only ever dealt with jefferson parish sheriffs and they're pretty good cops, especially compared to NOPD

fairly accurate, except Federal City is pretty much gone and everybody says Da Parish.
Not pictured to the west off I-10 in Kenner, Little Mexico

This nigger understands.
>t. former Baton Rougean
New Orleans is extremely overrated, you'll realize it once you understand that the foreigners who rave about it are lily-white pozzed progressive faggots who have never seen a nigger in their life. Once you get past the NOLA negroid novelty and have to start living in the utterly hellishly dysfunctional reality, you understand why living there is such a mistake.

Baton Rouge is the only place that's worse because it has the same concentration of niggers ruining everything but none of the interesting history. If it weren't for the state university and the government buildings (most of which are glorified workfare houses to keep the place from having 60% black unemployment) the city would look like Detroit on the Mississippi.

It hurts to recognize that the things that separate Louisiana from the rest of the Deep South and make it truly unique are the legacy of dysfunctional Afro-Caribbean infestations. The one exception is Acadiana. Those fuckers are weird, but at least they're functional, and I have to give respect to the fact that the whites there really understand and respect their heritage. It almost makes up for the fact that the whites in BR and NOLA are either out-of-touch-for-life Boomers or young wiggers.

I can't talk shit about the flyover part since I moved to the Great Plains, but at least it's white and crime-free here.

Damn, that sucks about Jefferson Parish. How's St. Tammany Parish holding up these days?

Not only is it home to some of the worst, blackest niggers in the country but the white people are also garbage tier

NOLA is a strange city. It's one of the only major American cities where poor white people still live and I honestly don't understand why because Swamp niggers are ten times more dangerous

JPSO is pretty good. It's a MUCH larger department. I live in unincorporated Jefferson, and I see a patrol car drive down my street maybe 3 times a week.

In Gretna I see them passing by my work at least 2 to 3 times a day. They have a MUCH heavier presence.

It sounds like even that couple speaks it as a second language because of how slow they find their words (maybe age too but I don't know) but they definitely have a distinct accent that is much more similar to something you'd find in Quebec compared to what you'd find in France. The girl holding the camera sounds like she's just an English-speaker speaking French.

They're probably stuck there. Or they keep falling for the NOLA meme

Former River Ridge here, leaving NOLA and La in general was the best decision I made in my life. My dollar goes so much farther in other states. I live in far less fear of daily random cultural enhancements. To any of you who aren't inbred moma's boys, get the fuck out as soon as you can.

checked
like mexico but more french than spicish

I mostly said my piece in response to the Metairiefag but in sum, this place is a Caribbean banana republic LARPing as an Anglo society. There is no forward thinking anywhere in state or [BR] local leadership (and I don't mean "progressive" forward thinking, I mean "having any plan to address the fact that the state is a titanic shithole" forward thinking). The place was probably already doomed the moment Uncle Sam forced the whites to live with the blacks, so it's not like great leadership would have made the state a good place to live, but just about every possible decision put before the government is decided in the way that lines the pockets of the corrupt faggots running the show, fuck everything else.

Yeah the girl talking to them was clearly an Anglo. I believe LSU took the video for some documentation for their French department.

I'd say the dialect is endangered for sure.

most of the whites are imported drug addicts and degenerates from elsewhere, there was an active campaign by other cities in the to literally give their homeless one way bus tickets to New Orleans because the weather there will be nicer for them.

Then after Katrina the disgusting west coast hipsters invaded to spin absurd lies about themselves as amazing Katrina survivors and shit up the local music scene, only they are even worse then the old waves of homeless because at least the old homeless minded their fucking business. These disgusting hipsters are trying to change New Orleans into one of their shitty west coast commie paradises, just like they are doing to Austin, killing the culture that exists and filling the void with their worthless consumerism masked in anti-establishment pap

How many days after her term do you think that stupid nigger Cantrell will last before prison. It astounds me that that people would actually elect someone convicted of writing hot checks. Like are you seriously going to put your trust in someone who can't do something as basic as honor a fucking check?

Has it helped at all since they stopped suppressing the French language?

Nope, niggers

>a fucking boot

I don't live in Louisiana, I just lived with guys from there. I think the biggest problem is a mixture of apathy and the idea that people want to assimilate and not be outsiders. Which is ironic given the 3rd world horde that is being unleashed upon us that requires government documents to be written in 20 different languages.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Houma here.

>Oil prices up

Everyone is working, making six figures, driving Cadillacs, city looks good.

>oil prices go down

Slum full of drunken drug addicts.

Good insight sounds legit, can kinda see it now

This is the same city that let William "Frozen Assets" Jefferson represent them for 18 years before getting busted for having a 401k's worth of bribes in his fridge.

I guess moving from frozen assets to hot checks is an upgrade. Seems like off-temperature money is a prerequisite for office, not a disqualifier.

Parlons pas le “Francais correcte.” Nous parlons “Cadien.” m.youtube.com/watch?v=FG6dtMhI7uY

When I was touring for law schools, a high-ranking individual at one school (name omitted) who was obviously a transplant tried to tell me a sob story about getting PTSD from staying and fighting their way through Katrina. I didn't say anything because picking a fight over that is retarded, but it legitimately decided between that school and another one for me. Talk about a redpill about pozzed progressive virtue signaling.

Mais, dem shremp boots noice, cher.

Hows lafayette

My grandmother spoke Cajun and said she was able to converse somewhat in France itself but couldn't understand the Quebecois at all.

Lake Charles here

its pretty good, i guess...The culture and food are amazing, but the niggers are so bad...its nowhere near as bad as new orleans or monroe, but the main attractions in our town are the casinos which bring crime and niggardry...and the plants, which brings hard workers and meth addicts.

Im a native cajun, but im looking to move because of all the niggers and casinos...the rural areas are amazing though, and the soil is great for growing all kinds of things

Full of zombies, hellhounds, butchers, and spoders. But there's plenty of delicious pork.

>they definitely have a distinct accent that is much more similar to something you'd find in Quebec
They are from quebec. Thats where most of louisiana's french came from

pic is so accurate. Except that you left out the meth addicts in CENLA. But the nice parts of CENLA and Acadiana are the only redeeming factors of the state

ive known a few whores that came from louisiana. thats about the extent of my knowledge.

kind of a college town, a lot of good resteraunts

>tfw I forgot I have this
from Jow Forums with love

Attached: LAkonstitution.png (1600x1200, 3.46M)

Well it depends on which regional accent in Quebec she was dealing with.

They're from New Brunswick (formerly called Acadia) and even to this day the Acadians in New Brunswick have a different accent than the Quebec accent

Attached: it appears my superiority has led to some controversy.png (1127x1011, 74K)

yea, id be lying if i said i didnt love louisiana...but its where the canadians kicked my ancestors out of canada to lol

It was the English Canadians specifically who did it, if it was up to us you'd still be here

In central Louisiana they'll do a news report in Cajun French on the weekend. Some churches will have a mass in French. My uncle retired and got a job at a radio station because he could speak Cajun so there's a demand for it.

But Cajun is very informal and sometimes on the radio the DJs will mention a word or phrase they heard when they were young but were never told what it was. So they'll ask any listeners to call in if they know what it means.

CENLA reporting in. Louisiana would be awesome if there were no blacks. Go figure.

Northern haiti

Whites are cucked, obese and inbred
Blacks are savage and agressive, more so than in AL or MS

Economy is shit, infrastructure is terrible and sometimes is literally crumbling

Also, tend, to LARP as French which is pathetic

they roll their Rs differently, but i read somewhere that before king louis the 14th french people mainly rolled their Rs like italians, such as how they old people do it in the video

NYC here. Just came back from a bachelor party last weekend in New Orleans. That city is a sewer. Need another Katrina to finish the job. Everywhere I went stupid niggers and their shoe scams. Hot as fuck. Over-rated cuisine. I've hadn't better gumbo. Fresher ledenheimer bread in Brooklyn. Kill yourself.

as opposed to rolling their Rs like germans, like they do now

That's encouraging. It's a good sign if people want French to be alive. It's like how Gaelic in Ireland and Hebrew in Israel were 100% dead languages that were able to come back just because the people wanted to speak them, and both were in a worse situation than Louisiana French

Suce ma bite, tete miche.

Tons of nigs and among the worst whites.

>Bump, how present is french language here?
French Surname, family isn't Cajun came direct from France. Hablo Espanol, es mas importante para hablar con mis empleados Mexicanos.

t. retard that went to Bourbon street and assumed that was the entire city.

suce ma queue, mon esti de vierge

>speaks French with horrible english accent
>someone points it out
>"Mais, on parle Cajun"

>t. Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed, Belge

Bourbon street, Frenchman street. Baywater. Garden district. All shit. I will not feel bad if another Katrina hits. You all can drown in shit.

lol, you parisian types call quebecois an english accent over in europe, so you shouldnt talk

this

based and redpilled

leesville/ft polk represent. yeah the nogs ruin it for everyone senpai. and the methheads. also the roads are like driving on the fuckin moon

when I hear quebecois it feels like 10 y/o American tries to imitate French language

Also you have approximately same vocabulary

Going to flight school outside of Lafayette in a couple weeks. Looking forward to it.

I like it here on the North Shore. (Just moved in temporarily to my stepmom’s house. Yea, I know.) I like Louisiana as well as the South in general. Food’s good, people are nice.

I feel the same. I just love the south

>thatfeel.jpg

KRVS the local Lafayette station has Cajun music every morning.

thats your ignorance, not mine. when i hear parisians speak french it reminds me of faggots
